It was a miserable return for Jose Mourinho to Stamford Bridge as his Manchester United side were routed by a rampaging Chelsea. Goals from Pedro, Cahill, Hazard and Kante handed Mourinho his heaviest defeat in the premier league.

The much anticipated clash got off to a flyer from the 1st minute when Pedro rounded De Gea and slotted the ball into an empty net to give the home side an early lead. It was cruise control for Chelsea when Gary Cahil latched on to a loose ball from a corner kick and rifled it home to double their lead.

Man United started the 2nd half better but found the game out of reach when Eden Hazard finished off brilliantly after a lovely assist from Matic. There was an icing on the cake for Chelsea when summer signing Kante, finished off a fine move by burying the ball at the right corner of the post.

The win moves Chelsea into the top four by virtue of a superior goal difference over Tottenham Hotspur.
